Private Fiber Arts Classes

Date: Arranged with Teacher

Cost: $25 per hour per student or $20 per hour per group (2-4) and $75 materials fee

Class size: Private or Group (2-4)

Ages: 10 years old to Adult

Students will learn the basics of four Fiber Arts areas: Drop Spinning, Scouring Fleece, Weaving, and Felting. The full Fiber Arts course has twenty 1 to 2 hour classes. The classes are designed for students to build skills as they progress through the curriculum which enhance other sections, i.e. scoured fleeces will be used in spinning and felting courses, yarn spun will be used in weaving lessons. It is possible to just take one of the four sections by itself.  There will be homework for students to complete prior to the next class. As class progresses, students will create a portfolio which will be shared at a portfolio presentation celebration. Fine motor skills and ability to follow instructions is required. Best for ages 10 to adult. Course syllabus will be made available to students on first class. No previous experience is needed. Just a desire to learn! Email coleen@etrfarm.org about interest.

Gardening Where You Stand

Date: TBD 10am-2pm

Cost: $20 per person or $30 for a couple

Class Size: 12

Class for adults/couples who would like to learn the basics of gardening to provide some fresh vegetables for themselves and their family. We will explore what a garden needs to be productive, how to plan your garden, choose what you grow, where you will grow  it, and how best to water it. Participants will leave with a gardening plan, a 30 lbs bag of PacaPoo to start your garden off right, and a bag of Grani’s Plant Tea for your other plants. Email coleen@etrfarm.org if interested.

Do you want to grow a garden?!

Date: Spring  and Fall classes TBD from 10am-2pm

Cost: $10 per family

Class Size: 4 families

Class for families for who would like to learn the basics of gardening. Similar to “Gardening Where You Stand,” but with more fun activities to get the kids involved. As a family, you will learn the four things a garden needs to thrive, how to choose what you grow and how much, best place to grow it, and how best to water your plants. Class will include time to paint one rock vegetable marker per family member for your garden and each family will take home two 30 lbs bags of PacaPoo. Email coleen@etrfarm.org if interested.

Weave with Me 

Date: TBD

Cost: $10 per parent/child (age 6+)

Class Size: 4 Parent/child group

Parent/child date night. Mom or Dad are invited to bring one kid to the farm to learn how to weave a simple bookmark. Working as a team, you’ll choose yarn colors and learn a basic weave. Each team will take home their own weaving tablet with knowledge to make more bookmarks. Special treats will be served. Please advise of any food allergies. Email coleen@etrfarm.org if interested.
